The Snowy Mountains host some of the best ski spots in NSW that cater to all types of skiers from families, intermediate skiers and expert shredders. The top four ski resorts include Perisher, Thredbo, Charlotte Pass and Selywn.

Snowy Mountains National Park has something for everyone including skiing/snowboarding, walking tracks, fishing, horse riding, cave exploring and mountain biking. You can also attempt the hike up mount Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest mountain.

Perisher Skitube is located 7 minutes from Altitude 1260 and is a Swiss designed rack-rail train that takes passengers from Bullocks Flat on the Alpine Way through a tunnel in the Ramshead Range to the Perisher Resort. This tunnel is Australia’s longest transport tunnel.

Horse-riding in the Snowy Mountains of NSW is a great thrill. After all this is the area that gave birth to the legendary stories and poems of mountain horsemen such as Banjo Paterson’s epic ballad, The Man from Snowy River. Less than 10 minutes from Altitude is Thredbo Valley Horse Riding situated on one of the historic properties originally owned and operated by the Pendergast Family, the original pioneers of the area.
